Google Unveils Google Nexus Lollipop Android 5.0 for Cell Phones

Android L is finally here – and Google have named it “Lollipop” launched on 15th Oct 2014. Latest Nexus devices – Nexus 6, Nexus 9 and Nexus Player will be the first to run Android 5.0 Lollipop.

The most chief features announced in the latest Android Operating System is that it lets you pick up where you left of which implies the songs, apps, photos and even recent searches from your Android devices can be immediately accessed across devices.

Another important feature is that Lollipop is designed to be flexible, so that it can work on all your devices and can be customized according to your needs. Like different screen sizes likes of TV’s, cars and smart watches etc.

In Lollipop you will be able to shoot in different formats like YUV and Bayer RAW with full resolution frames around 30fps. It also adds professional features to control settings for sensor, flash and lens per individual frames.

With Android Lollipop elements can contract and expand elements on the device it run and provides more white space between elements giving a 3D appearance overall.

Lot has been added for security in new version of this Operating system, where you can securely share your device with guest user mode and no one will be able to access your private files even you enabled friends to log in on your device. SELinux security module has been enforced by Google to provide better protection against malware.

There is a new battery-saver feature that extends the life of your device by up to 90 minutes and when it’s charging, it will tell you approx time required to charge before it’s ready and also provide estimated time left before you need to recharge.

Similarly there are several new minor and major improvements in Android Lollipop with updated notification area you can respond directly from your lock screen, avoiding calls while you are busy watching movie or playing games, manually adjust brightness or certain condition, cast screen control, hotspots and better multitasking.

Google uses a new runtime on Android (called ART), which claims to improve app performance, battery lie and responsiveness.

Overall, Lollipop will provide a smoother user experience, more usable apps and services which improves Android’s performance by four times with support for 64-bit chips as well.
