From HTC Google’s new Nexus 9 tablet is now available for pre-order, Amazon, Best Buy, and the Play Store, with orders scheduled to ship out for its release on 3rd November 14. The HTC- and Google-made tablet is one of the first devices running Android 5.0 Lollipop, which includes a number of major changes, including a gentle visual overhaul to the operating system. With its 8.9-inch display size, the Nexus 9 is also among the closest Android competitors to the iPad, which also has a new model up for pre-order today — though it’ll be a few weeks before both are out and it’s clear how the two tablets stand up to one another.
The Nexus 9 is available as a Wi-Fi only model with 16GB of storage for $399 and with 32GB of storage for $479. An LTE model will be available at a later date for $599. The tablet is currently only available to order in black or white, but a “sand” colored model will be available later this year. With Google putting the Nexus 9 up to order in the Play Store today, it has also discontinued sale of the Nexus 7 and 10.
